This my butterfly that I made from my ELA class. It is base on the kids during the holocaust. The poem that I read was called “the old house” and it basically talks about how things were before and after.

Life is beautiful review

Life is beautiful 

“Life is beautiful “ is a movie that I watch today in class. The movie is based on the holocaust and a happy, charm full  Jewish Italian waiter who met Dora who wasn’t Jewish and both fall in love with each other. They eventually married and had a son named Giosue. However Dora was speeding from her husband and son and she was taken to a concentration camp as well.  I liked about this movie was how Guido a Jewish Italian waiter had a charming and happy humor even though things were rough at the time. He convinced his son Giosue that the concentration camp was a game. The reason he did that was to maintain Giosue calm and not scare. The movie also made me sad towards the end because Guido got killed because he tried to scape with his wife, since all the women in the concentration were being taken to another one. But even tough this movie made me sad it also made me interested to keep watching it because they were talking Italian, it was just entertaining to hear another language. Obviously the movie had English subtitles so we could understand it. Over all I really recommend to watch this movie because it had a lot moods in other words a lot of emotions.

Out of my mind book blog

The book that I read was called “Out of mind” written by Sharon M Draper. The genere of this book is fiction. The book was about this eleven year old girl named Melody. Melody had a disability. Due to her disability she couldn’t walk or talk, which made it really hard for both her and her parents, but especially for her. How ever Melody was very intelligent. In fact she knew a lot of things and a lot of words but she just couldn’t say them out loud.  Due to her disability people often assume that she wasn’t intelligent or capable of learning anything. I feel that it’s true, people sometimes assume things about you or other people sometimes because of their race,gender, ethnicity,disability etc. Don’t you ever feel that way, like people make assumptions about you that aren’t even true?  Well I have especially in school. Any ways, Melody always felt this way and she often got irritated and mad.  In the book she meantioned that in the grade 3rd or 4rth grade in her especial Ed class  they were doing “little baby stuff” like learning the alphabet and singing and things that you learn in Kindergarten. That made her really mad because she wanted to learn higher levels things to learn. Her mom even had to go to her school to complain about it. Melody also told a brief story about her pet fish who died. She said that the fish got out of his tank. Melody tried to save him. How ever she couldn’t, and her mom wasn’t even there to help. Since she was in  the kitchen. Melody tried to scream but she couldn’t so she decided to put him in his tank but instead dropped it. Her mom finally came and her mom was disappointed, she thought Melody killed him, but she didn’t. Just imagine that happened to you, or something similar, where you tried to tell them what really happened but you couldn’t. Well in grade 5th her especial ed class was invited to join the “normal ed classes” that year was one of the best since she met her friend Rose she treated her just like any other girl she was very nice to her. However there were 2 girls named  Claire and Molly they were very mean but that didn’t stop Melody from being her self even tough she had a disability. Overall this book is very inspirational and nice to read and somethings that we could also relate to with the book. I do recommend you to read this book.

“The ghost of Tupelo Landing”

The book that I read is called “ The ghost of Tupelo Landing” The author of this book is Sheila Turnage. The genre of this book is fiction and also talks about mystery. So if you like mysteries then you’ll like this book a lot!!!.  The setting of this book takes place in “Tupelo Landing”  and the cafe. The main character of this book is mou loBeau, she is a sixth grade student. Mou Lou loves to meet new people and make new friends. She also likes to solve mysteries with Dale (One of her best friend) Dale loves to be with her since they are best friend. Harm Crenshaw is another boy in the story. He was a rough sort of rude kid. How ever he changed throughout the book and beacme polite and became friends with Mo and Dale. So those are a few characters in th book. Now let me talk about the overall story of this book. So basically this  story is about Dale and Mo, they are both in 6th grade and they are very good friends. They met this very weird mysterious kid (harm Crenshaw)  they tried to look for the ghost in Tupelo Landing inn. Will they find that mysterious ghost?.😱 the reason they tried to look for the ghost was because there was a murderd committee in the old Tupelo Landing. They are also trying to look for the gophost who is hunting the inn. I personally didn’t really like this book since I like other types of books, like graphic novels, sad books and inspirational books . How ever if you like books about mysteries like I mentioned in the beggining I think your going to like this book. One think I did like about this book is that is showed how the kids  worked together and helped each other out really helped them.

“Speed of life”

The book i read is called “speed of life” . The author of this book is Carol Weston. It is about a 14 year old girl named Sophia whose life change in a instant. Her mother had pass away 8 months ago in the book. Sophia will often cried in her mom’s tree, saying things like “I miss you”. Sophia had a hard time moving forward in life. A few months pass her dad met Kate. Kate was doctor as well, just like sophia’s Dad. Sophia’s dad started going out with Kate. He didn’t keep it as a secret from Sophia.   How ever for Sophia it was really hard since she will still think about her mom.  On New Year’s Eve her dad engage Kate. Everything went well and alexa, kate’s daughter started getting along well with Sophia.  I like how the book mentions that “things could change in a instant for worse or better.”  I like that cause hasn’t that ever to you when something changes in your life either for goo or for bad?
For example maybe if you loose a friend who wasn’t your real friend, maybe that was the best thing that had to happened.  even thought she had a difficult time forgetting about her past ,she move on with her life and accept that her mother pass away. Overall I did love this book since things like that do happen in real life and sometimes it’s reallynhardbto forget about your pass. I recommend this book.

Slice of life

today in school we have to blog about something about our life,daily basis, and things like that.
So I decided to blog about weekend!!. On Friday, my cousins came over to stay at my house over the  weekend. We had so much fun playing outside with the snow— even though it was really cold we still enjoyed it. Later that day, at night we watch ‘The Simpsons’ and ate some popcorn. Every time my cousins visits my family. We always have so much fun. That’s why I get so excited when my parents say that my cousins are coming over.
